3. Sift together the flour, soda, and salt. Set aside.
4. In a bowl, combine the bananas, egg, and sugar and blend well. Stir in the dry ingredients, then fold in the dates and nuts. Transfer the batter to the prepared pan and bake for about 60 minutes or until a wooden pick inserted near the center comes out clean. Cool in the pan for 5 minutes then turn the loaf out on a wire rack to cool completely.
