A Red Country Christmas

If the style of your home tends to be more country in look and feel, this red wreath and tree is what I call a “country chic” holiday theme. I created this stunning tree embracing ‘everything red’. I started off with a beautiful Douglas Fir tree which I then decorated from top to bottom using red lights only. I used two sets with one set flickering while the other stayed illuminated. My principle elements included red frosted ornaments in different shapes. For texture I added bunches of red berries on branches and bunches of fresh red roses in test tubes. The branches of berries work particularly well for filling in ‘holes’ in the tree. Remember, since this is a fresh tree it’s not perfectly formed, so added foliage helps keep the look even and streamlined. The end result – a glamorous and sexy twist on a country look. A word of wisdom: to make sure the tree is fresh you can check it quite easily by pulling on the branches lightly. If the green leaves come off easily, it is dry. The leaves should stay intact.
As always...There's more to come!
